PPC, Zimbabwe’s largest cement manufacturer, appointed Ndima Rawana as the new Managing Director for its Zimbabwe operations.
Rawana takes over from Albert Sigei, who had served in the role since January 2024.
PPC Ltd Chief Executive Officer, Matias Cardarelli, who expressed confidence in Rawana’s leadership and vision. “I am delighted to share the exciting news of Ndima Rawana’s appointment as MD of our Zimbabwe business. I am confident that his leadership and expertise will continue to play a role in driving the business’ turnaround strategy and ensuring that the business is competitive in the Zimbabwe market,” said Cardarelli.
The company operates two cement plants located in Bulawayo and Harare, boasting a combined annual production capacity of 1.4 million tonnes. PPC holds a dominant position in the local market, controlling over 60% of Zimbabwe’s cement supply.
The Zimbabwe unit has also proven to be a significant contributor to PPC Africa’s overall performance. In the ten months leading up to January, the parent company received a record US$13 million in dividends from the Zimbabwean operation.
Looking ahead, Rawana will spearhead key strategic investments, including the ongoing installation of two solar power plants with a total capacity of 30 megawatts.
