There are sensational claims that the Forever Association of Zimbabwe has been rigging and overturning the just-ended Zanu PF primary elections in different constituencies across the country.
Results which trickled in on Sunday night in Buhera West indicated that Zanu PF Director of Information Tafadzwa Mugwadi had won the election.
In a memo gleaned by Zim Now, the results have been turned in favour of Maxwell Chikwangani.
In the memo, Chikwangani - who is a car dealer - has been accused of vote-buying by giving vehicles to some provincial members.
“Mukwangani was knocked down by Mugwadi as returns were calculated yesternight at the command centre by FAZ officials.
“Despite other candidates, including the seating MP S Nzuma congratulating Mugwadi, Chikwangani aided by a FAZ official Mirinyu refused to give other candidates forms of results confirmation to sign saying they needed to address Chikwangani complaints because a senior party politburo member had instructed them to do so,
“They woke up in the morning having changed results, claiming to have recounted the votes at night with Chikwangani who was now threatening to stand as an independent if his issues were not addressed,” reads part of the memo.
The officials are said to have escaped with the ballot boxes to Mutare and they are being accused of trying to overturn the results
