Wenset Charuzika, 35, of Stop Over, Epworth appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with the murder of the man who had hired his ex-;lover for sex services.
The State, alleges that on July 8, 2023, at around 2200 hours, Charuzika went to Bhagomalo Bar, Reuben Shops in Epworth and met his ex-girlfriend, Praise Muchemwa, who was with the now-deceased.
Charuzika bought beers to lure his ex-lover back but she turned him down as she had been paid by the deceased for her sexual services.
Charuzika threatened unspecified action against the pair
Around 2300 hours, Charuzika waylaid the now-deceased and Muchemwa near Delport Road when they were on their way to Muchemwa’s house.
He struck both of them with an unknown hard object on the back of their heads and they fell down, unconscious.
A well-wisher saw the two and rushed them to ZRP Epworth and the now-deceased was referred to Sally Mugabe Hospital where he was pronounced dead on admission.
Muchemwa later gained consciousness.
The police arrested Charuzika t in Epworth.
Charuzika was ordered to appear in court on July 26 pending indictment at Epworth Magistrates’ Courts.
He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
