Highlanders FC consolidated the top spot on the Castle Larger Premier Soccer League table after beating Manica Diamonds one-nil at Barbourfields Stadium over the weekend
Highlanders collected maximum points through a set piece which was finished off the veteran defender Peter Mudhuwa.
The hosts dominated the first half, but the visitors came to a better side in the second half.
The goal which made the difference was dedicated to Godfrey Makaruse who got injured and is likely to be out for some time.
Highlanders head coach Baltermer Brito was satisfied with the win.
“Yes, we won with a good performance because we were playing a good team. We could have changed this victory by the presence of Godfrey Makaruse,” said Brito.
