A man who assaulted an officer who wanted to arrest him has been arraigned to court.
Takunda Chingochema, 23, of Glen View, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with resisting a peace officer.
The complainant in this matter is Constable Sign Munduna stationed at ZRP Kopje attached to police intelligence.
The State, alleges that on July 27, around 1200 hours, at Corner Chinhoyi Bank Street, Harare, Munduna was on duty when he saw his colleague Constable Mawire facing difficulties in arresting Chingochema.
He went there and introduced himself as a police officer.
Chingochema became violent and assaulted Munduma with clenched fists all over his body with the help of other people.
Munduma later managed to arrest him.
Chingochema was ordered to appear in court on August 2 for bail application.
