Eight Good 9 Mine employees, who are facing attempted murder charges, will on Friday receive their judgement which will be delivered by Regional Magistrate Bishard Chineka.

The eight suspects, identified as Thankmore Chitumba, 26, Daniel Guyo, 28, Vincent Ndanga, 37, Artwell Zongoti, 42, Ponciano Takawira, 31, Togaresei Mahohoma, 33, Obert Maphosa, 27, and Beaven Munga, 27 stole gold ore, jackhammers and pipes from the neighbouring Good 17 Mine on October 3, 2022.

The gang also blasted explosives in a shaft where three Good 17 Mine workers were.

Prosecutor Eunice Shoko said that the three Good 17 Mine workers blasted an underground shaft, and when they went to check, they found the suspects.

They had dug an underground tunnel from their mine.

They then ordered the mine workers to leave the gold ore and their tools. The gang then struck one of the mine workers once on the bicep and threatened to put explosives on them.

They then blasted the shaft, and the three miners escaped unharmed.

Their manager filed a police report, leading to their arrest.
