The Kwekwe District Agricultural Show, which seeks to promote agriculture and its supporting activities, to facilitate agricultural development in Zimbabwe opened in the Midlands city yesterday, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and broadcasting services has announced.
“Yesterday, Kwekwe District Agricultural Show was launched. There were 340 exhibits from all over the district, including crops, small livestock, crafts, mats, and baskets made from recycled plastics. Kwekwe District surpassed this year’s 5 000 ha target and managed to plant 8 500ha of Winter Wheat,” the Ministry said in a statement on their Twitter handle.
The Kwekwe District Agricultural Show also seeks to promote rural industry with displays of produce, demonstrations, handcrafts and livestock.
The show bridges the gap between the countryside and the townspeople.
