A 45-year-old man, Mthokozisi Ndebele, was arrested on Monday in Beitbridge after being found with dagga weighing 2 kilogrammes.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the case on X wall.
“On 02/10/23, members of the police deployed on operation ‘No to Cross-Border Crimes’ in Beitbridge arrested Mthokozisi Ndebele, 45, in connection with unlawful possession of dagga weighing 2 kilogrammes.”
The dagga was wrapped in a plastic bag and stashed in a red and black satchel when the police searched the suspect at Condep checkpoint.
Meanwhile in Harare, police are investigating a case of robbery which occurred on Monday at a car sale in Avondale, in which four male suspects who were armed with an identified type of a pistol attacked a security guard who was on duty.
The suspects broke into the office where they took keys of a white Toyota Fortuner vehicle, registration number AGC 3117 and one television set which they loaded into the motor vehicle and drove away.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to report at any nearest police station.
ZRP Warren Park is also investigating a hit-and-run road traffic accident which occurred along Bulawayo Road near Whitehouse, Harare on Monday in which two minors died.
A motorist who was driving an unknown motor vehicle, registration number AFX 5897 hit the two minors who were crossing the road and he did not stop after the accident.
Both victims died on the spot and their bodies were taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital mortuary for post mortem.
