Man loses tooth in assault

Two men, who allegedly - together with another - assaulted a man leading to him losing his tooth, have been given bail.

Kanokanga Blessing, 19 and Zhaya Cephas, 24, both of Eastlea, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused of assault.

The State, through prosecutor Grace Mugocheke alleges that on October 11, 2023, at around 2000 hours at number 87 Kaguvi Street in Harare, Kaokanga, Zhaya and Alufandika, allegedly assaulted Banda Ishmael.

The court heard that they used clenched fists and unknown objects to assault him.

As a result, Banda allegedly lost his lower incisor tooth and sustained a swollen left eye due to the assault.

The complainant was medically examined by a Government Medical Doctor and he confirmed that the complainant sustained severe injuries and there are some possibilities of permanent injuries.

The two will appear in court on November 23 and were ordered to deposit US$200 bail.
