Suspected cocaine dealer arrested in police ambush

A man who was found with 6 grammes of cocaine has been remanded in custody.

Simbarashe Marunga, 33, appeared before magistrate Apolonia Marutya, at the Harare Magistrate’s Courts accused of unlawfully possessing dangerous drugs.

He will appear in court on December 12 for bail application.

The State, through prosecutor Zebediah Bofu, alleges on December 6, at around 1530 hours, the police were informed that Marunga was dealing in dangerous drugs in his place of residence.

Upon ambushing the suspect at home, the police recovered two satchets of cocaine with a street value of ZWL$2 535 000.
