Talent Munyaka, 30, of Glaudina, Harare appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing charges of unlawful possession of drugs.

The State alleges that on May 3, at around 1900 hours, police were informed that Munyaka was peddling cocaine in the Harare Central Business District.

At around 1930 hours, it is alleged that the police lured her to Redan Fuel Service Station at the corner of Street and Samora Macheal Avenue, Harare posing as potential buyers.

The State alleges that Munyaka came out of a Honda Fit intending to do a transaction with one of the police officers.

The other police officers immediately went and intercepted her.

They introduced themselves to her and highlighted their mission.

A plastic containing two sachets of white substances suspected to be cocaine was allegedly seized from her right hand, leading to their arrest.

The recovered cocaine weighed approximately 2 grammes. The estimated street value of recovered drugs is US$100.

Munyaka told the court that she was made to walk with her pant only by the police officers.

“I was in a taxi when the police officers came, l do not know what substance they sprayed me.

“While l was coughing, they put me in a Mercedes Benz and assaulted me with an iron bar.

“They told me if l do not give them the recording, they would claim that l was in possession of drugs and would charge me for that.

“They made me to walk naked. They took me to the charge office wearing a pant only. Men were looking at me, laughing. They took me back to charge office that is when l found someone who gave me something to put on,” she said.

She was remanded to May 16 and was told to apply for bail at the High Court.
