A man, who allegedly raped his 19-year-old lover, has been granted bail.
Darlington Muzivachawapo, 20, appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused of rape.
The State, through prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti, alleges that on December 6, 2023, the complainant was on her way to her aunt’s place when she met Muzivachawapo who then accompanied her.
He invited her to his residence and she agreed.
Muzivachawapo allegedly locked the door from inside.
He then started to caress the complainant all over her body.
She bit Muzivachawapo on the hand, trying to stop him but he continued.
He allegedly raped her and the matter was unearthed when she was asked by her aunt why she looked bothered.
A police report was filed, leading to Muzivachawapo’s arrest.
