The Zimbabwe Republic Police have issued a chilling warning about online dating after 28 year old Dzivarasekwa woman fell victim to a brutal assault following a meeting arranged through a dating app.
“The ZRP urges the public not to engage in online dating with strangers,” said the police in a stark statement.
The woman, whose identity is being protected, was lured to a lodge in Mabelreign by a man she believed to be a potential romantic connection.
However, the date took a horrific turn when the man allegedlysubjected her to his unwelcome attack.
After he has sated his dark desires, the rapist then heartlessly abandoned near Madokero Service Station.
Other details of the attack are still under wraps as the ZRP investigates the matter.
