Zimbabwean hip hop artist, Saintfloew yesterday signed for South African music distribution label, Virgin Music, a subsidiary of the Universal Music Group, becoming the second Zimbabwean artist in his genre, after Asaph to achieve this milestone.
This partnership will see Virgin Music group in collaboration with Saintfloew's record label Nash Nation promote his music on the international stage and helping him reach a wider audience. The label will also oversee the release of his sophomore album set for October 12 in Harare.
Upon signing, Saintfloew expressed optimism about the deal, which will place him alongside global stars likes Nigeria’s Rema and South Korea’s BTS, whom are also under contract with the group.
He remarked, “I am excited to partner with Virgin Music Group and push our work to the world.”
Previously Saintfloew worked under the Samanyanga brand, having been discovered by fellow hip-hop artist Holy Ten before joining Tinashe Mutarisi's Nash Nation.
Music distribution contracts and partnerships of this scale are relatively new in Zimbabwe where many artists have raised concerns about their royalties and revenue shares from local platforms like Nash TV and other similar businesses.
