A 20-year-old man committed suicide yesterday morning at his girlfriend’s house in Kuwadzana 6, in Harare after she decided to end their relationship.
Tinotenda Zikonya hung himself on a mango tree outside his lover’s house.
The girlfriend, only identified as Memory, said her problems with the deceased started in December last year when Zikonya cheated on her.
“Whenever I wanted to break up with him, he threatened to commit suicide.
“We have been dating since July 2021 and after he cheated on me, I decided to end the relationship, but he did not take it lightly,” she said, adding that he had also lied that she had stolen his US$900 and threatened to fix her.
There are reports claiming that Zikonya came to the house around 10am on Friday and assaulted Memory’s parents.
