Former Ruwa Local Board town secretary Kumbirai Madanhi is the new Mutare Town Clerk, filling in the vacancy created following the death of former town clerk Joshua Maligwa, who succumbed to Covid-19 in January 2021.
Blessing Chafesuka, who is Council’s finance director, was the acting town clerk.
Mutare Mayor Simon Chabuka confirmed Madanhi’s appointment yesterday.
“Our successful candidate is Mr Kumbirai Madanhi, who has been with the Ruwa Local Board. We are finalising it, but very soon he will be in office,” Chabuka said.
Ruwa Local Board has shoe among other urban local authorities, bagging three awards for the best Harare metropolitan council, beating Harare City Council, Chitungwiza Municipality and Epworth Local Board.
