The fierce uproar on social media over young Zimdancehall chanter Ndunge Yut’s performance where he sang profanities to students at a school event has forced the artist to issue a public apology.

Ndunge Yut performed at a school event last week where he is accused of singing obscenities.

In a video Ndunge Yut, born Givemore Bonde, said that fellow musician Seh Calaz reprimanded and encouraged him to own up to his mistakes and apologise.

“I would like to offer a heartfelt apology for my actions. I have since realised that the song I performed was inappropriate and I offended a lot of people.

“I would like to apologise to the school children that were there. Some of the things that we do as musicians will be out of trying to entertain and some we do unknowingly,” said Ndunge Yut.

The chanter added: “As a youth in the process of growing up, we are bound to make mistakes and I would like to apologise for what I did. It is a learning curve and I will never repeat it again (sic).”

The young artist thanked Seh Calaz for encouraging positive behaviour in him.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to my elder, Seh Calaz, he called me and told me the repercussions of my actions.”

Following the incident, social media went frenzy with many users condemning the act given the age of the audience.
