A Kuwadzana man who was found with sexual abuse material in his phone has been taken to the court.
Thamsanqa Mpofu, 32, of Kuwadzana 5 was brought before magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrates' Court accused of possessing intimate images.
The State, through prosecutor Grace Mugocheke, alleges that sometime in March 2023, Mpofu was arrested for contravening section 164E of the Data Protection Act Chapter 11;12.
The complainant in this case is one Charity Saziwa.
His cell phones were seized by the police and submitted to CID Cyber Laboratories for examination.
During the process of examination, CID Cyber Laboratories discovered that Mpofu's Samsung phone had sexual abuse material.
This then prompted the team from CID Cyber Laboratories to raid and seize four phones, two hard drives, 10 discs and various identity documents.
He was ordered to pay ZWL$100 000 bail. He will appear in court on July 4.
