A 24-year-old man, who took advantage of a 10-year-old's hospitality by abusing her using his finger, has been denied bail.
Gift Chikwanha of Chitungwiza, appeared before magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa facing allegations of aggravated indecent assault.
He will appear in court on October 2, for his routine remand.
The State, through prosecutor Pardon Dziva, alleges that on August 26, 2023 at around 0000 hours, at 3299 Hopley Zone 6, Waterfalls, Chikwanha left the complainant's house with her mother.
He later came back alone, knocked and the complainant opened the door.
She gave Chikwanha a blanket to cover himself and he slept near the complainant.
The complainant woke up feeling something in her private part, touched it and discovered that it was Chikwanha's finger which was inserted in her private part.
Chikwanha went on to fondle her breasts.
She went to her mother's friend and told her about the incident.
They both went to the complainant's grandmother and rushed to file a police report.
