Police in Harare say they are investigating an incident in which a man was shot near the Russian embassy. The man, who has not been identified as yet, is recuperating in hospital.
National spokesperson for the ZRP, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi in a statement said, “The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms that investigations are being conducted in connection with the shooting incident which occurred outside the Russian Embassy on October 26, 2022 at 7.20pm.
“A 24-year-old suspect was injured and is currently admitted at a local hospital. More details will be released in due course.”
Meanwhile, the Russian Embassy revealed the incident took place outside their territory.
Though full details are yet to come out, the man, believed to be 24 is said to have approached a policeman guarding the premises, leading to the shooting. The incident happened around 7:20pm.
