Midlands State University on Monday announced that the institution will on December 2, 2022 hold a blended graduation ceremony that simultaneously merge physical and virtual graduations.

In a notice, MSU said the physical ceremony will be held at the Kwekwe Campus along old Gokwe Road while the virtual ceremony will be streamed live on the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) Facebook page.

“All PhD/DPhil graduands, Postgraduate graduands with distinctions and merits and all undergraduate graduands with first class degree passes will participate in the physical ceremony.

“The rest of the graduating students shall graduate virtually by following the graduation proceedings on Zimbabwe Broadcasting Television (ZTV), ZBC Facebook page and the university official page,” read the notice.

All graduands are required to be in their graduation attire as they follow the virtual proceedings.

They are also expected to have paid their outstanding fees before or on November 28, 2022, as only those whose fees are fully paid will be allowed to attend the ceremony.

Graduation fee, exclusive of academic regalia is US$70, for all academic programmes.

Academic regalia for undergraduate graduands cost US$40, Master graduands US$45 and Doctorate graduands are expected to fork out US$170.

The institution is also urging graduands, staff and invited guests to adhere to the Ministry of Health and Child Care and World Health Organisation Covid-19 prevention regulations which include appropriate wearing of face masks, regular handwashing or sanitisation as well as keeping the requisite physical distancing.

All graduands participating in the physical ceremony are expected to attend rehearsals on December 1, 2022 at the Kwekwe campus.

All are required to produce student and national identity cards, receipts of the graduation fee and academic regalia.

Graduands attending the physical ceremony will pass through an MSU security checkpoint where invitation cards will be verified.
