A bogus Bulawayo traditional healer, Misheck Ncube was sentenced to six months in prison for possession of counterfeit United States Dollar and South African Rand notes totalling US$14 870 and ZAR400 at his house in Cowdray Park.
The Sangoma is deceived his clients during money rituals, where he purported to be able to multiply their money from deposits of US$5 000, with police recovering the counterfeit notes concealed in a plastic bag under a pillow in his bedroom.
Ncube is reported to have admitted being guilty of the offence, in court where he was subsequently charged, revealing that he used the notes to deceive his unsuspecting victims.
From his conviction sentence, two months were suspended, leaving Ncube with four months subjecting him to serving 140 hours of community service.
