A 42-year-old traditional healer, Tofandiro Mahachi of Senuko Village, Mkwanise was arrested on allegations of killing a couple after taking his concoction.
Masvingo deputy provincial police spokesperson, Masauso Patinyu confirmed the arrest of Mahachi.
Sources said on May 16, Tambudzai Tambana fell ill and her husband Layton Machira consulted a traditional healer from the same village.
The traditional healer gave the couple a concoction to drink and the couple suffered running stomachs immediately after taking it.
They were rushed to Gudo Clinic where Tambana dead on arrival and Machira was referred to St Peter's Hospital and died two days later.
The bodies were taken to Chiredzi District Hospital for post-mortem.
